Question: Is there a simple and safe way to remove the burnishing from shell cordovan?

I have a few pairs of AE shell with toe burnishing..

I have a few pairs of AE shell with toe burnishing..
Renovateur would probably pull it off. You could also use reno mat, but that's a more nuclear option.

Edit: to add, I used renovateur to pull some of the burnishing off of my bourbon (cow) Randolphs with good success. Have also used reno mat on cordovan Florsheims, but I was stripping years of caked-on polish and had to color correct after...

Go slowly.
