I purchased two pairs of AE in walnut. Six months later, I realized that I don't like the walnut color (on me).
The darker brown colors are wonderful and remain my favorite.
One good thing, if you’re a DIY kind of person, the walnut takes dye very well and it’s pretty easy to use.

Indeed. I wasn't the best person for the job. One pair turned out ok and the other pair turned out kinda ok (both a dark brown). The mutation to dark brown is still preferred over the walnut.

Busy day of begging for a bigger budget and bathing in the blood of the non-believers. Oxblood Daltons SMUs from @ae_ashley photographed in very poor, overcast outdoor light seemed to be appropriate.

I'm not a fan boy of most of their recent offerings, but I think AE has great dark brown shades, starting with their stellar dark cognac shell, plus mahogany, cigar and dark chili. I think you can get the Strand and the Park in all of those shades right now. Plus they're still offering some models in a coffee, which I guess is more of a mid-brown, but isn't this a pretty good range of dark brown shades?

Didn't they just recently offer the strand and park in cigar and mahogany? I know dark chili has been around, but I take that as more a shade of oxblood than brown traditionally.

Just hanging out waiting for my wife to get ready for a day of nothing. We probably won’t get it done.

Just realized these look like the same pants. The black MacNeil's are paired with light gray chinos and the cigar Strands with khaki chinos.

Hi! Long time lurker here, just have a question about the "german leather" AE uses on their weatherproof PAs (link below). Does anyone know what that is? Does it require a different shoe care product than with a calfskin? Any thoughts/experiences on it generally? Thanks in advance.
