Those Cubs Montgomeries (Montgomerys? Montgomeri?) are ON FIRE!!!!! Oh man, I had no idea such a thing ever existed. I'd be all over those if they were still in production. Something just got added to the "grail" list.

If it wasn't 33 degrees right now, I'd have my Cubs footwear on. Nabbed these off eBay last year. Normally, I wouldn't go the used route on boat shoes, but desperate Cubs fans gotta do what they can to support their team. A buddy of mine has some custom Cubs Neumoks. That's the dream for me.

Thanks! This pair of Montgomeries(?) have no numbers on the inside at all. An anonymous AE source thinks these may be a Jim Cass one-off pair. The original owner lived in Highland Park, so there is some speculation that it was for someone affiliated with the organization.

You have one of the two other AE Cubs shoes that I look for:

Your pair look like they haven’t had enough Wrigley Field Budweiser spilled on them yet!

@barutanseijin - this is what I did to the cubicle of Sox fan that I worked with when he went to lunch.

He came back to his cabinet covered in Cubs logo wrapping paper. His finger salute was about what I expected as a reaction. ;)

@JFWR keep an eye out on eBay/Poshmark/Grailed they do show up once in a while.

I really like the Fastball pair and have been on the lookout for those as well. Haven't even come across a blank pair in my size. My younger brother only owns one pair of AEs (despite my best weaseling), but it's a Fastball. He loves them, just not enough to make the transition from his enormous gym shoe-based rotation.

I've seen some pairs of Center Fielders with team logos essentially branded into the sides sometimes and there's a distressed kind of boat shoe that's supposed to resemble a scuffed up baseball that sometimes have logos, but that's about it. In the meanwhile, the hunt continues for Cubs wear and potentially some Red Sox as they've been my #2 team since I was about 5 and one of my neighbors was drafted by them. When you're 5, that's about as good a reason as you need. Of course, that doesn't explain why I never took a shine to the Yankees, even though my Great Uncle played in their minor league system until he was drafted and injured in WWII. Even showing us his lifetime pass to games couldn't sway me.

Problem solved (unfortunately not be AE). More options here:

Yeah, not gonna lie: I'd rather just go to the games in my navy blue shell dundees to rep a Yankee colour. These look cheaply made. :/

Still, B A S E B A L L.

YANKEES.

Aren’t all shoes made in Port Washington “yankee” shoes?

I mean, depends on how much of a Yankee you are for being from Wisconsin. Some people down South might say it, but a Yankee usually means a North Easterner specifically, not just a Northerner in general. Like, it'd be strange for one to say that someone from Seattle is a Yankee, but not at all strange to say someone from NY was one.

Hey @Shoenut, your LandSharks came. How easy it is to impersonate you. Just need two things. Glasses and stupidity. And don’t be calling @ae_ashley this time. No crying @Shoenut!
