Question...looking at the black boots for sale and there are three in my size. The Higgins Mill waxed suede, Patton tumbled, and Hamilton. I’ll wear these more casual, so not thinking the Hamilton. So, Patton (I like the blue Dainite) or Higgins? I’m tempted to just buy both and return the one I don’t want. Thoughts?
Between those two, Higgins. The waxed suede is best! Plus, no half measures!

That, and the Hamilton. I'm not going to be the one that doesn't suggest the Hamilton.

I really like the look of the Higgy; with the matte finish of the suede, and the black hardware, laces, and Dainite, it's a very sharp makeup.

I did score tan hamiltons from the sale but otherwise not much available in my size. Ordered a belt twice and both times received the wrong size (long story) so I am off to find a capable cobbler tmrw.
I for one will be glad to see the sale end and hear about the TS details.

What's your thoughts on a patton shell offering in some awesome color for the upcoming truck show?
Love the boot. But the one I have in Kudu has some weak toe puffs.

What do all you guys think of a Park Ave (I going to say that word) sneaker. Not as busy as a Strand. Personally I would like to see something like an austerity brogue with a dark cup sole and contrast stitch. Oh yeah, made in a size that fits me. I would go for a weekender like that.

Two packages en route. One contains black gator belt, two sets laces, one pair socks.

The other contains.....one pair socks.

I guess that makes sense somewhere.

Edit: both packages originated in Murfreesboro. So they came from the same place. I could understand some stuff in WI some in TN but all of it in TN in 2 packages on the same day....

Gonna pass on the shell sneakers-hard to believe right?-but if they add some fuddy duddy shoes and loafers in a nice assortment of shell colors to the TS lineup, I'll likely be in for something.

Lady boots today with my last pair of Daddy pants. These were not made for me, they were his pants. Due to size differences, the alterations were incredible. So my wife decided to surprise me by fixing them up. Instead of measuring me, she took a pair of my pants that fit and deconstructed to measure up. Just got these the other day a long with the pair that went missing a month back.

The dye is colorfast. It sounds to me that there was some sort of sealer on the leather that the dye did not penetrate.
If you can easily remove the dye with alcohol or acetone, then you know it did not penetrate. If that’s the case, you should strip them again with acetone and start over.
I just watched an Elegant Oxford video. He says let the dye cure in the sun a few days. I didn't do that and I probably didn't get enough old dye off the shoe.
