BTW, like others here willing to dye their shoes, kudos! I respect your abilities and wish I had the time and knowledge to do so. I would certainly have some very cool colored shoes.

Well I'm a Ranger's fan so no sympathy here.....
Not one of those Ranger fans that hates the Isles though. Just pulling for the home team.
Vegas has plenty of company with disappointed fans; Tampa, Washington.
Should be a great play-off season!

My general recommendation for using dye is to dilute it heavily with isopropyl alcohol (up to 50% alcohol), unless you are using black. You can always add more dye to make it darker.

Check your Mac. It's ~midnight-navy on mine.

I have all of the brogueing deglazed and once over with the acetone. I'm already liking the way the stripped leathers contrasts with the walnut color.

Why do you add alcohol?

Because I’ve used leather dye since I was 10 years old and learned (the hard way) that you cannot lighten things after you’ve put the dye on. Also, applying diluted dye in multiple directions gives a very even finish.

What do y’all think of this color? Testing it out on some goodwill shoes before moving on to the strands.

Good color, but as others said dark navy will appear black indoors. (That's up to you if you wanted it this dark)

Yup! I was going to suggest diluting to bring out the blue color. Can always darken.
