Waxy brown suede Higgins Mills in the wilds of the Knoxville airport. He wasn’t “one of us” though.

Reflections now that I’m back home...

Obviously (well, I hope) I wasn’t able to handle (or sniff) the waxy brown suede Higgins Mills (because they were on some guy’s feet). However, I will say by appearance alone I was not blown away by that leather. I wish I had opportunity to likewise see the reverse chamois in person or even better handle (and sniff) it. I’m still leaning hard towards those Indies. Dang it.

On the other hand, the natural Dublin Parkhurst boot that was just released looks worthy of a heck of a lot of consideration. That probably won’t last long either. Less than half the price of the spectacular looking Vibergs of the same material from Divison Road. And last I checked still available in my size.

I don't wanna weasel you, but the tan Strandmok is amazing, especially at RDA pricing. Don't do something you'll live to regret, PB.

I am not sure if I bought 2 or three pair during the RDA. I won’t know until next month when they will be delivered. Patton goes into production on the 30th.

Mr Off Topic guy here with some late night musings.

Am I the only one who gets a natural post-trip buzz? Especially business trips or maybe just trips that involve air travel. While still pretty easy, there is some level of stress involved. Once I’m back home in my familiar surroundings (starting as soon as I step off the jet way) and I don’t have anything to worry about (except perhaps the expense report or how long will it take to get to economy parking), it just leads to a bit of a euphoria.

Also it doesn’t hurt that I had my LL Bean order waiting for me, ready to open when I got home and once the kids were finally in bed. I actually forgot about until a few minutes ago. It’s fantastic to come home to the family but next level when you also have a delivery of clothes (or better yet shoes) waiting for you.
