Those are tragically beautiful. Tragic, in that I will eventually end up doing something similar because that's just jaw dropping. As I approach the magic 30 pairs, I'm going to have to start doubling up so that I can modify I guess...I picked up some burgundy shell MacNeils for a really great price on Ebay and decided that they needed a recraft to make them sufficiently different than my other shell LWBs. (Yes, I have a problem.) Natural welt, white stitching, natural edge. Indoor and outdoor pictures. All total they are about 1/3 the cost of a new pair. A route to consider.

Oh cool. They put a recraft mark. Shame about the quality issues, but at least it's on the bottom. How did the top side stitching come out?Today I received my recrafted shoes from AE. I have to say, I was a bit disappointed. Is this poor workmanship, or am I too picky? What's the point of creating a stitching channel if you aren't going to use it? The stain is another nice (albeit unimportant) touch.

I saw that same ad last week and had the exact same thought. I think they'd look great with cords for Fall, and I think AE needs a better photography team.I hate to say it, but in these pics, the Taft chukka doesn't look nearly as bad as on the AE website.
On edit: had it mixed up with the Tate/Taint, which still does look like a dog's ass.

Nice shoes. Do the AExCM shoes come in more than one width? Or is it One Size Fits Some?View attachment 844772

Temps in the eighties continue. Lands' End Madras shirt, Tommy Hilfiger chinos, milkshake Club Monaco Leeds. The best deal I'm wearing today is definitely the shoes... $149 first quality.
Same. Found one in my size on the 'Bay, and floated it by my wife. She wasn't excited but didn't shoot it down so that's a thumbs up to me.I'm in desperate need myself. I've got 4 sport coat/blazers for cool weather. Grey, khaki, navy/ black plaid, and a brownish tweed. Few vests and sweaters. My peacoat has become too large. I've got an olive wool military style jacket for colder days, but I'd like something to go with dressier clothes. I REALLY want a covert coat...even if it's probably too dressy for day to day...

Hey, Mr Off-Topic Guy checking in here with what may or may not be a quick question.
I'm currently reviewing the sad state of my outerwear situation and in the process justifying an alarming number of new items... which I can't really afford, so I'm trying to limit things to 2-3 additions/replacements. I was wondering if you cared to share how many pieces of outerwear you have in your wardrobe including color. This includes anything you would wear as the outermost layer on your upper body. At a minimum, I need another light option because I'm as sick of that light green jacket as you all are, no doubt. Thank you for playing along.
