Maiden voyage of the Oak Street. I was pleasantly surprised that these weren't on clearance this morning. These will do, while I wait for my $399 Burgundy Shell Strands to be made in 8 weeks.
I see what you did here. Great shoes, btw!

Anyone have any ideas on how I can make the colors match on these tan McTavish shoes?

I got them for a dirt cheap price, so I don't really mind that they were seconds and different colors. Of course, now I kind of want them to match better haha!

No one has really said anything to me except that they like my shoes haha. The lighter one is much less of a "second" but I realize it's extremely hard (impossible?) to make leather lighter. If I have to make them both dark, so be it.

Anyway, let me know if there's something I can do! (Or, if I should just leave it alone.)

I suppose it's possible to dye them darker, but I would just leave them alone since they are more casual. You are most likely the only one who will ever notice. I had to look hard, even at the pics.

Nothing at all wrong with those with jeans. I wear dark chilli McA's with jeans, although your chili seems quite a bit darker than mine.

Yeah, it's not in line with the rules, but I like my dark chili University with jeans.

The lighting is bad, but mine are at least that dark. I don't much care for them with jeans precisely because of their darker appearance. Walnut Universities, however, I could see liking.

Wearing my suede Wolverine boots so no picture of those. However showing off my shoe horn I keep at work. Anyone else have one handy at all times? Oh, and the obligatory water cup...

Yep, I have one in my desk drawer along with a buffing brush.

The lighting is terrible; this is much more accurate.

A cheap plastic one (that I got from a Christmas cracker!), but heck yes I have a shoe horn at work!

Cell phone snap of the new "Nordic" under the AE brand. It will be advertised to "The discriminating gentleman who needs a little more room in the toe box and lives in colder climates." They think fur will be the new calf. Look for it this fall.
Those are sleek. Is that pigeon or rat? It snows where I am and I'm always looking for fashion forward shoes...

That's about the same as mine. It's a comfort thing with the balmoral for me. I want to get unquestionably toward the light side of the spectrum for a bal with jeans. I say that, but I would be good with indigo jeans if a sport coat (or sweater/cardigan) and knit tie accompanied them. I'm also beginning to believe our perspectives are grossly shaped by where our typical wardrobe falls. The more frequently one dresses less casual, the more apt one is to be appeased by the "rules." E.g., I wear cap toe bals with odd s/t combos all the time, which those who wear suits daily may frown upon. (At least today its charcoal/ blazer, which is kind of suitish for merlot PAs.)

I believe it is Doberman.

Correction, baby seal. Made in the USA of imported materials (AE gets shadier every year). The rolls are a dead giveaway.

How do AE belts hold up? Can anyone post pictures of a belt that is a couple years old? Thinking of buying 1 from the bank. What kind of defects do the belts usually have? There is also a sweet deal on there for an olive belt. Thinking of picking that up too and in order to justify some olive strandmoks!

First day at my new job. Hope I got the shot right. I am new to these office pics. Wearing my daltons that were walnut, but I dyed them with diluted cordovan.

I think they hold up by means of friction. You tighten the tension on your pants by making the circumference of the belt smaller. Mine hold up my pants great.

Actually, today I'm wearing a walnut AE belt purchased at the Shoebank about two years ago. The infamous "polished cobbler" looks great after I'd guess maybe 100 wearings.

Paired today with walnut grained Macneils.
