Bought a pair of Park Avenues, they are breaking in nicely. Part of that reason is because I brought them to a cobbler to have them stretched wider in the toebox a bit. The stretcher he used for the right shoe, however, was for width and length and the result is that the vamp/heel cup is slightly looser than the left shoe. No heel slippage, no undue rubbing or sliding, but it's noticably a little roomier and the V closure is a little closer.
I've read that a little soak in water and some time under a blow drier works, but I'm not eager to get started on what sounds like it could potentially ruin a $375 pair of shoes. Any tried and true method of remedying this?
I appreciate any replies. Thanks. -Tom
