I agree. they look particularly good here. Some lasts look better in smaller (or larger) sizes which might be what is going on here. If I had to guess, they look like a small size which might be hiding the shape of the modified last. Or maybe it's just the angle and lighting in this particular photograph.

I wear a 10.5 modified (just a bit longer than ideal fit with thin socks) an took 10UK in the HIro last for the Meermin dub monks. Width is good, heel is smaller as well and a pretty goo got overall. Again though maybe .25 size length too long
