I just bought this shoe in black. I pulled the trigger impulsively and my extensive, but ultimately inconclusive, SF research has left me a little worried?

Shoe

1. Looking at the picture of the sole--I don't see the stitching that's present on my AEs. Is this a sign of glued on soles? Bad quality? A pact with the devil?

2. Can we finally end the Bally debate? We know the Scribe line is good, but what is the consensus on the quality of the run-of-the mill Bally--like the one I purchased, and am debating returning without ever having seen it.

I don't really know of any debate, I am pretty sure they are glued. I had a pair of nice-looking wingtips which started to come apart at the sole.

they used to symbolize some sort of under-the-radar luxury but they can be had for very cheap, and that's about how much they are worth.

I still look for them occasionally, they are comfortable and cheap. I know my exact size in them as well.

even though the Scribe line is decent, there are so many superlative choices out there that you can get and at a good discount if you look hard enough, that it is not even worth getting a pair of Scribe.

the lower line that ive seen are an ok buy at perhaps 150- less than 200 dollars, but if you got that much, still there are halfway decent midline shoes that are better buys that i wouldnt even consider Bally
