I bought my first Polo Ralph Lauren item in Junior year of high school, '92. It is the one and only brand that I have had consistent success with. Currently, I own the following bearing the RL name:

Polos: 3, just sold 6
Shirts: 4
Sweaters: 6
Pants: 4
Suits: 3
Socks: 4
Boxers: 6
Ties: 1
Scarves: 1 (gift from the incredible Annette Green in 1998)
Shoes: 4

Looking at the list, I can frequently be clothed head to toe in RL. Over the years I have owned many RL items.

What's your love affair like?

I have:

6 sweaters
5 shirts
2 polos
2 pants
1 blazer
1 jacket
5 ties
3 pair of socks

I definitely have more Polo than anything else, but then again, I try to diversify my closet. The only other brands I have a few items from are ones that have many diverse lines (Paul Smith, Prada, etc.), or shoe brands (Tods, New Balance, etc.).

I would happily only wear Polo if I had access to the entirety of every line, with the exception of having my Barbour jackets, Dior jeans, and New Balance running shoes.

At this point, every one of my oxford shirts is Brooks Brothers since their MTM program easy and I like non-iron fabric. I have a lot of Ralph Lauren in other categories - a couple suits, many ties and accessories, absolutely perfect casual wear in RRL, and two pairs of great cordovan shoes. However, if you pulled any random item from my closet or dresser, it would most likely be j.crew.

I wouldn't call that a RL clothed head. When I was in preschool I had more RL than that. It was the ONLY brand I wore with the exception of Dior Junior until 6th grade. I didn't have a choice. I would kill to have some of those things in an adult version now.

I frequently find myself clothed head to toe in Brooks Brothers as of late.

It's weird too, because it won't be intentional. I'll realize it at 4 in the afternoon and look down and say "damn! I wear a lot of Brooks Brothers!!"

Not really sure I can call it a love affair, as I'm just now starting to explore Ralph Lauren's luxury lines lately (have a total of three shirts and one Shearling RLPL coat that I've yet to try on but the wife has waiting for me at home!)

I wouldn't call it a love affair, but I have picked up various RL items over the years and I have to say they tend to stay in rotation. Since I despise external branding, I have no RL Polos or sport shirts. Other wardrobe staples are BB and JCrew. Other designers making appearances in my casual wardrobe include Engineered Garments (a recent favorite), Berkman Brothers, Steven Alen, Rogues Gallery, and Theory.
