Having sold out of ASC#1, the team (@artishard116 , @thatoneguy and @g transistor ) are keen to get the ball rolling on issue number 2.

What is it?

In case you missed it, All Styles Considered is a printed magazine made up of submissions from the StyleForum community, which are then sequenced, edited, designed, printed and sent by our team. Our first issue was themed 'place' and sold out in a few days.

We're a weird mix of honest and upfront, sentimental, serious, tongue-in-cheek and playful. Hopefully there's something for everyone.

With the first issue we were able to include everyone who submitted, and get them a magazine as a way of saying thanks, hopefully we can do both again.

What's different about this issue?

First of all, we have worked out a lot of what took us so long with the first project, so we will be delivering this in definitely much less than the year it took us to make the first one. We have a timeline, and we're hoping to stick to it and get magazines out in the world by September, although again we all work and have busy lives so that's a guideline.

Secondly, we would like as many submissions as we can possibly get. We were really lucky with the excellent quality of submissions last year, and we're sure that we'll get excellent work from lots of people, so please submit, submit a lot, submit 2 things, submit 5, email us a lot of great art that we can include. Want to write something and draw something else: great. Do it.

Thirdly, the theme is different. This issue's theme is: softness.

The Theme: softness

Think of cosyboy knits, think of gentle moments and kind things, think of lilting songs and misty mornings, think of spider webs and a kid giving you a thank you note they made themselves. Think of songs that feel like soundtracks to a dream, photos that almost have a texture you could sink into, that part of Stand By Me where the older protagonist erases the line 'I've never had as good friends as the ones I had when I was 10' (might have mangled that one), think of that epsiode of the Simpsons where Homer explains how his love for Maggie drove him back to the soul-crushing job at the Plant, think of how soft puppies are.

That's what we're getting at here - cool stuff that isn't gritty or hardcore and brutal, but is gentle and important and essential.

I'll post some inspiration and ideas up in subsequent posts to keep things alive.

If you weren't able to snag a copy of ASC-01, here is an online upload of it! It uploaded spreads as single pages and I can't be assed to fix it or ask Hayden to fix it, but you get the gist. This is what you get for viewing printed ephemera digitally, anyways!

The theme for ASC-01 was "Place," so leaf through it to see how people interpreted it and how it might influence their style!

Consider submitting to ASC-02, which is themed "Softness." I hope to see great submissions again!
