Brioni Suit -- Real or Fake? Help Please!

I just recently purchased on ebay a light gray, two button, double vent, single breasted suit that was described as a an authentic Brioni. The seller is from Britain, j-m-the-diplomat-suits, sells other suits and has 100% positive feedback for over 3,000 transactions. The suit jacket interior has the classic "Brioni Roma" label with black lettering on white, but I noticed a few things that did not seem right and have me worried. First, the jacket lining does not have the classic polo player fabric that Brioni uses. Instead it is solid white. Second, the inside collar has a solid blue rectangular label without wording sewn in instead of the typical "Made in Italy" rectangular label used by Brioni. Third, while there is a label in the jacket interior chest pocket that lists the size of the suit, it does not list the suit model, etc. Fourth, there are no label on the trousers. Here is the website address for photos of this suit:

Is this suit real or fake? How can one tell? Thoughts from Brioni aficionados would be much appreciated! Thanks.

"WELCOME TO DISTINGUISH GENTLEMEN SUITS:" ... hmmm, that doesn't sound very promising. Sounds like something I would read on Taobao.

No doubt the Brioni suit experts of SF will be along shortly to pass judgement.

Looks very suspect to me.
That label seems to have been stitched on by someone who has been out on a 4 day drinking / amphetamine session.

No doubt the label was not sewn on in the factory.

Any chance you can provide the inside fabric label? That should also detail the jacket model too.

On the all the tailored stuff (suits, overcoats, etc) that i have regardless if the label was red or white it has always been an X stitching, so this one looks a ***** sketchy

Thanks for the comments and thoughts. In speaking to the seller, he said that the previous owner is a lawyer, who wore suit once to his daughters wedding, the suit itself was bought in Selfrideges in London. He very strongly believes it is authentic and guarantees its authencity. He offered me a full refund. There are two labels on this entire suit. The size label is inside the chest pocket. Here are photos of the labeling. There is no label with the model name.

In looking at this label on the suit that was sent to me and comparing with the label from the auction, which NORE was kind enough to display above, it appears that someone resewed the label on to make it look better.

Here is the sizing label in the chest pocket. I guess someone could have sewed on authentic labels to a different brand suit, but it just seems like a lot of effort. The seller also explained that not all Brioni suits have the polo player lining. Is that true? Again, I would appreciate your thoughts on this updated information. Thank you.

Nobody resewed the label- that was sewn by machine and the tension settings were screwed up.

Brioni does not make their inside pockets like that.

42 and 52 are not exactly equivalent sizes- Brioni is not likely to list anything other than the metric size on their tag, and they absolutely would have more information than that inside the pocket

How likely is an Italian-made garment to have a label that says "Made in Italy Hecho in Italia" (English and Spanish but not Italian)?

Only acetate lining shines like that, Brioni would not use acetate lining.

Shoe us some clear photos of the buttonholes (front and back), the undercollar, and how the lining was felled to the hem of the coat and I will be able to say almost conclusively if this is Brioni or not

It's REAL Brioni. It may be over 10 years old, but it's definitely real based on the inside size/fabric tags. Take it from someone who has handled and sold thousands of Brioni items.

Actually Brioni does list 42 and 52 on their old tags as well as even current joker tags:

Also Brioni didn't always use Brioni signature lining - especially on older garments. Admittedly the button holes will definitely confirm whether or not this is a Brioni (or at the very least reveal whether it has hand sewn button holes) or not... so please do take clear close-ups of the button holes and we can confirm as Jefferyd suggested.

Don't mean to be argumentative, but Brioni has always made their inside pockets manually- this one was done with an automated machine, then bartacked and d-tacked by machine, neither of which Brioni would ever do. I'd be almost willing to say that it's fake just based on that pocket, but I want to see a few more details first.
