Proper Cloth - Official Affiliate Thread

Hey Guys, I'm looking to put together a staple business / casual blue shirt. I've already determined the collar type, cuffs, etc., but I would like to hear some opinions on the different blue fabrics available. So far I started with looking at an end-on-end fabric because I like the subtle...

٭٭٭ No Man Walks Alone - Official Affiliate Thread ٭٭٭ (a.k.a. I shouldn't have slept on it)

Slimmer in the arms, chest and waist than a brooks bros sweater of equivalent sizing. I'm a medium in both, but I'm slim so the fit on Inis is a bit more to my liking.

Proper Cloth - Official Affiliate Thread

What are people's thoughts on using the Roma Cutaway as a default collar for both dress shirts and more casual shirts? I might still go with the Ivy Button Down for linen and flannel shirts, but other than those fabrics, it seems the Roma Cutaway is most ideal.

Kent Wang has a good spread collar polo, just picked up a navy one myself. Make sure to size up though as the fit is very slim. http://www.kentwang.com/polos/polo-navy.html

    Shoe Aesthetics

As far as sub-$300 shoes that look pleasing, check out Meermin. I find they look very similar to more expensive brands, probably because they are owned by Carmina. http://www.meermin.es/home.php For example:

Need first essential suits... slim fit help!

Well if you want to try it on in person your only bet is probably J Crew, Banana Republic or Hugo Boss. I'd say Suit Supply is better than all three though in construction and cost. Their slimmest fit is the Washington.

Need first essential suits... slim fit help!

The answer is getting the navy London two button suit from Suit Supply for $499. It's cut slim but with a conservative color and lapel so it doesn't look "fashiony" but fits well. At your height and weight it should fit you off the rack with perhaps minor alterations...

I was planning on buying the 3 piece Blue Lazio linen suit for a wedding in LA mid October but they stopped selling it apparently. Would wool suits be okay for LA in October or do I have to stick to a linen or linen blend? Any thoughts appreciated.

How can I style my hair to look like this?

    1. Move your hair part up a tiny bit 2. Put small/medium amount of American Crew Fiber all over your hair 3. Instead of styling your hair completely across your head to the right, style it forward but a slightly to your right 4. Push the front up a bit and use your fingers to mess the top up...

    Best Sportcoats Under $300

Just picked up a couple of Massimo Dutti blazers each under $300. Quality isn't quite Suit Supply level, but the fit OTR is pretty good for the price.

    Alternative to J Crew?

None are exactly like J Crew, but Gant, Suit Supply, Ledbury, and Massimo Dutti are near the price range mostly preppy or casual euro look

Try the pima cotton v-necks from Banana Republic. I would stick to black though if you have man boob issues.

    The Sous VIde Thread

I bought the larger stainless size promo pack about 6 months ago. The Demi will work fine unless you are trying to cook massive amounts of food all at once. The air sealer is not fantastic but does the job, especially considering how much an industrial one costs.
