Just throwing this out there in case anyone happens to be in the market for a new pair of boots. Several pages back I asked if anyone has had any dealings with William Lennon boot company. Buttons was the only one who replied saying that he had heard that the quality was very solid. I just got...

Thanks for the input on my color schemes question Royton. Since most of the pics from the original days are b/w I've been curious. Not so much as a way to gauge my own styling but just in general. I tend to favor comfort/versatility/practicality over the 'details'...so I'll probably be a...

Thanks for the glasses link GsVs. Those aren't too crazy priced. I may just look around on amazon or something for a real cheap pair to start to see if they suit me. I usually get my cheapie aviators online for $8 a 3/pack :p

Thanks MoM. Ray Bans aren't insanely priced but at around $100 (give or take)...still way more than I'll pay for sunglasses. I lose em too often. I'll stick with my cheapy roundish lenses for now til I can find something suitable.

On to another question that has been touched on but not really in depth from what I can remember of this thread: color schemes. What looked good together and what wouldn't you pair? Specific colors of specific clothes has been mentioned (jungle greens, stone Sta-prest, brown/ox blood/black...

Thanks for indulging ;) If history serves....'modern' tattooing has been around since the 1890s so a 90+ year old nowdays with one or two though rare, isn't unheard of. My grandfather is 95 (and still with us) and although he's not tattooed I'm sure a few of his era were.

If I can speak out of turn...there really is no significance to 90% of tattoos....now or then. At that time it was often whatever the particular artist had available. There were very few 'flash sheets' ( the stuff you pick off of the wall nowdays) as all the designs in those days were drawn and...

Thanks for the contribution Brownie. I think I recall you mentioning the crosses a while back. That's not unusual though at all nowdays either. I get all kinds of wannabe thugs that get cross tattoos as though somehow getting them will 'set them right with the Lord' or negate the fact that most...

Actually considered going the 'cut-down' route Catchour...but I think I'll see how the ones I ordered do first before I go that way. I do have a pair of 10 hole Chinese DMs that I hate that I may give that treatment to cuz I don't care about em anyway. Basset....the pics of your tattoo-work...

I don't blame ya there. Definitely a preference thing. I don't mind the non steel toe and think they look sharp...but as I don't wear DM style boots much and don't plan to...I really only need one pair to put into rotation and I'm kinda set on steel-toes. We'll see what happens with these WL...

Definitely feeling the styling of the 6 hole Hawkins Solovair...but I'm partial to steel toe. Always liked the more rounded look. Unless I'm mistaken (which is quite possible as I'm computerless right now and doing all of this with my iPod so it's not as easy to see close ups and whatnot) those...

Thank you A&E for your recollections. Your earlier posts regarding getting tattooed amongst rockers and whatnot are gold in terms of old-school tattoo history. Although I've only been tattooing for a little over 5 years, I've been around shops and 'tattoo-culture' for nearly 20 now and I...

Thanks for the welcome Boltolph. Yeah....I would imagine that most of us that are in the US and in that general age-range came into 'the scene' thru similar means. When I first started going to shows (at least in my area) there were pretty much only punks and skins, and you typically identified...

Thanks to buttons regarding the info on the William Lennon boots. I had a feeling that if anyone would have an answer regarding that maker it would be you. To Mr. Mystery....I also share your affinity for aviator sunglasses but have always worn the more rounded style....but I like the look of...

Read through every post on this thread from beginning to end (although I admit I didn't read every off-site link that was posted, etc...). Took me about 2 weeks...and what a find. The amount of knowledge from 'young' and 'old' is astounding. And the overall friendly atmosphere of this thread is...
