What was your look in high school?

Got a call from Mom the other day--she warned me that she's cleaning out one of my closets (I moved out 10 years ago, guess she's run out of patience). Anyway, it's full of clothing from high school (mid to late 90s). Made me think about the way my friends and I used to dress: typically, a Versace silk shirt (with wife beater underneath), a tight pair of Versace jeans, a black Versace belt studded with silver Medusa heads, alligator slipons from Mauri (in a variety of obnoxious colors) or Gucci croc loafers, and sheer silk over-the-calf hose. Ugh. In my clique we also wore our hair perfectly slicked back with too much pomade, and of course too much jewelry. Pretty indefensible, but it was the culture at my high school.

What about you guys? How did you dress in high school? I'm sure that most of you had more dignity and class than my friends and I...

I was quite conservative...JM WESTON mocassins with Levi's 501 and Lacoste tee-shirt......I bought some Faconnable shirts and a jacket with a Burberry's scarf...
That was the uniform of the well-to-do Parisians at that time...

Also Bowen suede loafers with chinos.....

In the summer,We always used to like Vans or Sebago with Oxbow or other surf tee-shirts...

...see GS - 1:1 - even the year matches quit exactly - mine was 1986.

...and I still own and wear a dark blue MA1 sometimes.

Midwestern prepwear.

BB BD's my favorite color was peach [no longer offered]
Wide wale cords
Gokey boots or bluchers [now carried by Orvis]
Shaggy Dog sweaters
Alligator shirts

Only spice was some deep pleated 40s pants and a lot of Ivy League stuff from thrift stores.

sounds like we went to the same school. I'm out to a #2 crop these days though.

Semi-headbanger (didn't do the all-black, ripped clothes thing).

I was a wee bit of a Mod. The Morrissey hair and suits, or Leather Biker Jacket and Docs.... kind of all over the place!
