What to do before hemming pants?

I have three new pants that i just bought and need to be hemmed. I was wondering if there are certain things that i need to do before taking them to a tailor to hem them?

This includes wearing them for a while so that they stretch, washing them or anything else that would change the size of the pants and potentially ruin the length of the hem.

The ones i need advice on are:
- Todd Snyder selvedge jeans, that is a 100% cotton, 12oz denim, pre-washed but not pre-shrunk, machine washable.

- Todd Snyder Corduroy pants that are 98% Cotton, 2% Elastane, machine washable.

- Brooks Brothers 1818 Dress pants that are 99% Wool, 1% Elastane, Dry Clean only.

Thanks!

You don't need to do anything with the wool trousers.

If you plan to machine wash either of the cotton trousers, I'd wash them twice before hemming. Turn the corduroy trousers inside out.

Just hem them yourself! It takes like 60 seconds per hem on a machine... a bit more if you want to blind-stitch by hand.
