Much as I would like to claim credit for getting Metro banned, the fact is, I didn't. And he is not banned. He was timed out for his own rule-breaking stupidity (about the 200th instance). His sentence expired a while ago, so far as I know, and he has thus far chosen not to come back. Which is fine with me, needless to say.

I agree with those who say that mm was not going after anyone's wife. He was mocking his critics on this board. The post was pretty good, I thought.

That said, what bugs me about him (sometimes) is the way he pretends to be humble and open to new information in the abstract but in every specific instance he is defensive and spins absurd justifications/rationalizations/"explanations" rather than simply admitting he does not know everything.

99% of the past two pages wouldn't happen face to face. That's the beauty of internet forums. Guys here are ragging on a kid for bullshit (because he scored a ******* mushroom!!!) and when he **** talks back the SF wanna be knights in shining armor try to get all tough because he mentioned a guys wife that made an odd looking bowl of food (mind you her apparent husband posted said food and mentioned her). I actually thought his attempted comeback was amusing and was in the spirit of the **** that was being tossed at him by a bunch of blow hards. Mind you these same SF wanna be knights in shining armor toss around offensive **** in CE and DT on an hourly basis. Really, guys, he made a wisecrack. What are you gonna do about it? Cry to the mods and try to get him banned? A la Manton and Metrostyles?

Said it better than I could have. Piob, you know I like you, but you consistently get backed into a corner in CE. Everyone gets in situations where they can't admit they are wrong and refuse to admit it. Why do you guys rag on MM for it so much?

I have no idea, but I suspect he does. He had a towel on his shoulder and he was barking at staff, but by the time I was done with my lunch at 2 he was already taking a nap in his hotel room and I made the sommelier go down and get him to sign my book for me since I forgot to last time we met 6 months ago. The autograph is kinda weezy but fair enough, I made the poor guy wake up from his nap.

Amuse bouche, as before; parsley cake, ricotta filled tube on jamon iberico. a spoon of sweet n sour pumpkin, an almondine puff, etc

This was a mint ice cream over a brunoise of cucumber, etc - cleansing, but not necessary really. I've gotten an ice cream to open every time I've come here though, so whatever.

John Dory in rhubarb gelee, basil - nice summer dish like I've eaten all summer as a pattern - white fish, red summer fruit, basil, it's still good

This was crap, mayonnaise'd veggies on shredded saba; Basically tasted like cole slaw on cat food.

Good but not a real dish; shaved champignons in mushroom mousse, etc - very mushroom-y obviously, and that was that.

Green beans in sesame - sucked. Tasted like Korean food, just ******* doused in nerigoma, a singular flavor and a disappointment for the vegetables.

French frog legs, not bad. With spinach, etc. I preferred the previous preparation with the creamy celeriac mousse and fresh wasabi leaves, rather than a plate of 6 legs, but I read the menu beforehand and expected this much.

main plate was duck breast, typical bad boy ****, stewed cherry tomatoes and pekoros onions, nice jus, etc

Quite an incorrect characterization and I openly admit when I'm wrong (did it just the other day). However, this is not about me and I'm not sure why I'm your focus as I actually rarely comment on M&M relative to most. Additionally, I gave him some pretty solid props for continuing to put his stuff out there.

I'm also confused about simultaneous charges going out about being an ITG yet "crying" to the mods. /shrug

Happy to report my homemade ******** style chorizo was fantastic last night.
