Reminder: If you want to tell people that you don't like what they're wearing, this aint the thread to do it in. Please go to one of the many other threads for that. Thx.

Bris I know it's your thread so you can moderate the comments but lets not make it a circle jerk thread. Peacockry can be done well or poorly so similar to all WAYWRN variations discussions should be welcome. Now if it's just flagrant abuse and insults I totally understand u editing.

this is why i think you should breathe out a little. its not that serious. starting a thread almost makes it seem like you are fixated with competing with the so-called boring elitists.

honestly i think the ratio of poor to great fits by the "boring elitists" as you call it, is on par with the regular WAYWRN/WAYWRN Casual threads. There are quite a few terrible fits in the good taste thread as we speak. its really not that serious to get all wound up by the elitism on the forum, when you step back and look at the big picture ... thats all i'm saying.

i just think you are getting caught up in not being validated by their opinions - but if this thread is genuinely just a peacock WAYWRN thread, then i stand corrected.

This was precisely my worry/expectation on seeing the thread title, so I didn't click into the thread until today. But I'm really glad you posted this reply early on, Nii, because it's cleared the air a lot.

It's turning into a pretty fun thread now that the potential "competitive" aspect is removed. On this non-competitive basis, I'm looking forward to x-posting into here when appropriate. I'll kick off by throwing in a few recent fits from the past week.

I do think there's a certain art to a peacocking outfit; it has to be loud and fun, but equally, the loud has to be balanced across the outfit and fit the personality and purposes of the wearer. It's actually pretty tricky in its own way and worthy of a fun thread showing some examples. Plus, the opportunity for massive trainwrecks is ever-present, potentially making this a hugely entertaining thread as well.

I also STRONGLY agree with Nii in his most recent post that each and every outfit posted here should be subject to critique. The only difference should be that the critique recognises the aims of a peacocking type of outfit and judges it within that frame of reference.

i wish I had something to post here

OK, here are a few bold & brash outfits from the past couple of weeks:

Things I would have changed with hindsight:

- black oxfords instead of the dark brown wovens in the 1st pic. Black loafers would have been perfect, but I lack a pair currently.
- tan oxfords instead of the spectators in the 2nd one
- 3rd & 4th fits I'm happy with at the moment. Although possibly using brown loafers in the 4th might have worked better.

This shirt is awesome. Wouldn't be seen dead in the rest though.

No way, that's great stuff right there. Wouldn't flail the PS so much but that's pure win.

This thread is awesome. Nice to see guys having fun with clothes.

+1

Too much thrift store bragging, not enough of this.

Great stuff except for this. The sweater's gorge doesn't work. The shirt spread collar creates funny angles especially since it seems you have a pretty big neck size.
