How about this for a no-square look?

1000

Not the best pic but the jacket is a cream base with navy & yellow check.
Coat is from some old school British maker that stats with a 'C' I think, keep thinking Carroll & Co. but I don't think that's it.
Tie is PRL
Shirt is TM Lewin

All of which were given away 3 years ago.

FYI, Carroll & Co. is a famous Beverly Hills retailer, clothier to the stars for like 60 years, that gets a lot of private label stuff made in England and Italy. The jacket does have a certain Old Hollywood aspect to it. I think it would look best with a white shirt and solid black tie, Doc, if you are reading this, see, I am not as inflexible as you think.

First up, why I always wear my pocket squares points up:
I like a square with a contrasting rolled edge. I like it more when that edge compliments something else I'm wearing

Me too, me too.... the square with the contrast rolled edge.

Without wearing the square points up I would not have been able to achieve the look I was going for.

I really don't like the pointed ends look, perhaps because it reminds me of the cheap ensembles I see all too often (the matching tie-square, pre-packaged, pre-made editions).

One way I get around that is to do a modified TV fold, with the contrasting edge above the breat pocket and slightly askew.

I loled. I hope you realized you're posting on SF.
I applaud nore for dealing with the responses so maturely. If only everybody reacted like you...

Nore has famously melted before on SFand i'm sure he'll admit that himself ... i was just hoping to pour some cold water on what i felt was a slowing simmering ember
