Good catch Slew. I changed the shot because my flash was severely distorting the color of the shoes. Rich dark brown was being especially washed out.

I'll try it the old way again, too.

The fit on Scafora (my 3rd pair) is now perfect. The first pair fits well, but nearly as well as these or the second.

A non-invasive surface blemish in the polish that I need to smooth out.

All three are beautifull, but that Cleverley suede just stands out. Stunning!

I also really like the last Scafora has made for you - less stylized and more classic than many of his other examples.

Thanks Eustace!

Scafora and I worked hard at coming up wit a last that was true to his aesthetic but more in keeping with my preference for something less extreme. My next Scafora commission is a dark loden green suede Norvagese chukka boot on the same last as the wholecut.

Very cool - I like the idea of green suede. Does Scafora have a generic name to identify your last shape (i.e. conservative round), or is it simply the one for Mr. Portnoy?

Thanks - ET

It was a modification of the round "English" last he developed a year or so ago, but made less extreme, more shapely, if you will.

If you reference it by my name, he will certainly know of what you speak!

Thanks - this is helpful. I will almost certainly get your last shape on my next pair from Scafora.
