Really? The closest Apple store is the the 5th Ave flagship... IDK if I'll be able to get past the swarm of people.

There's always a ton of people at the 5th ave store, but its equally stocked to the brim with employees - just go in and find one - they are all roving around anyway theres no need to line up just find one and ask. I didn't believe it was true (about the store exchanging broken earbuds without question) but I've seen my friends do it and they had old assed out of warranty iphones/ipods and they always got replacements after complaining.

^told ya! they have a bin of the earbuds in the back to swap out.

I actually just bought some black skullcandy in ear 50/50 buds... they are cheap on amazon (under $25) and come in nondescript black. The apple buds just fall out of my ears no matter what. Plus they still have the function control and mic. I like having plain looking earbuds that don't draw attention to everyone that you're using an apple product.
