If all you had was a good experience, I don´t think the masses would revel at the pittilogues as much. An artist must suffer for his work and his audience.

No one has a purely good experience at Pitti, Mrs. EFV maybe an exception (she seems to be be the bubbliest, happiest person, there. At the end of day 3, she seemed as fresh as at dinner on day 1.) No matter how much you may love #menswear, or Florence, and I like the first and love the second, attending the show is like running an ultramarathon. No matter how many times you've done it, it's going to beat you down and you are going to feel tired and pummeled at the end.

btw, @Synthese , Crocs being there is not so crazy. It's a footwear brand, and a multibillion dollar revenues a year brand. It's all over the world. If I had to choose between owning Crocs, inc, and say, Margiela, it'd be a hard choice. If it was like, Crocs or any one of the small brands that I personally wear, it would most definitely be Crocs.

BUT do they fit into the target audience and is the right trade show for their products. I have always seen Crocs as a later adopter product and not #menswear or early adopter like the rest of pitti, so they might do better at Munich fashion week etc., where buyers interested in their wears actually come.

I have been to my share of trade shows in the furniture field and usually people are VERY selective about, where they go so they hit the right target audience etc. and two of the big ones actually overlap, so you have to know what you are doing.

I'd think so, yes. Although there are a lot of "leader" brands at Pitti, what you do not see covered are the very many, and large, booths for brands like Desigual and Aeronautica militaire and other large brands, that probably underwrite a large part of the show.

We pass a brand called Moose Knuckles. Come on. And Crocs. Why they are here, at Pitti, I will never know. We pass brands with names like “Derrière" and “Just Over the Top,” neither of which sound appealing. I wonder how, with the crowds and the music, anyone can be expected to do any business - don't forget that this is, after all, a place of business.

I've always found Moose Knuckles stuff hideous, but the alternative is everyone in Toronto just wearing Canada Goose 24/7.

That has to be the worst brand name ever right? It's like the male equivalent of camel toe. That just seems like such a terrible brand name. Evokes a terrible mental image.

What's next? Goatse brand?
