bl@ster, thanks for posting those pics! I'm interested in the cordovan service boots but on reddit someone mentioned Chippewa leather creasing badly and not aging all that well. Would be interested in seeing some pics later on when these have gotten some wear. Thinking of getting a pair and resoling with leather.

Looks like the some of the service boots are up on J Crew, and theyre having a 25% off purchases $150+ with code FALLSTYLE.
Unfortunately it's excluded from the promo.

Still looks pretty sweet to me though: http://www.jcrew.com.au/browse/sing...534374302040764&nav_type=PRMNAV&bmUID=k2AJFPc

Does anyone know how these fit? I'm a size UK7 for RMW Craftsman but after reading bl@ster's comment I might have to find one instore. I assume JCrew will be stocking these?

Pull up leather creases like hell. It's why I don't like Horween's Chromexcel. Some love it. I ordered the suede. I'd love to see the tan renegade aged as well.

Great post bloster.

I noticed that too. Speed hooks and a pull tab. And they're a little more expensive than the zappos ones. Kind of odd... But probably just a slightly customized makeup for J Crew. It's funny how J. Crew lists them as an "exclusive collaboration" -- that may be technically true but it really needs an asterisk.

Kopped some more of the new line from Zappos and took delivery today. After a bunch of measuring vs Red Wing Heritage and Aldens, I maintain that these run TTS. Here are pics of a pair of "Tan Renegade" Service Boots and "Sundance Riptide" Homestead Boots. BTW these leather names are getting as absurd as paint swatch names. Anyway, click the thumbnails for high-res shots.

Did anyone actually order the new J Crew Chippewas with the 25% off coupon? The coupon doesn't seem to be working for me, I think these boots might not be eligible.
Edit: Should've more thoroughly read this page. Anyway, bl@ster, have you gotten all of your boots from the new line via Zappos or is there another retailer I'm unaware of?

Edit 2: Emailed Chippewa asking about the boots from Zappos and they said they are part of an exclusive line for Zappos. Not sure if that's common knowledge here or not.

From personal experience, it's a waste of time emailing Chippewa. Their responses about this boot line have been either "what heritage line?" or flat out misstatements.

I got mine from Zappos, but if your size is out of stock there check with Jean Shop. I spoke with them and they currently have the following:

5" Bridemen Lace-To-Toe in Sand Suede
6" Moc Toe Wedge in Crazy Horse
6" Service Boot in Tan Renergade

They also said this: "Then coming in October we will have a Chippewa/Jean Shop Boot specially made exclusively for us which will be the Moc Toe Engineer in Mahogany."

You can contact them here: [email protected]

Right now J. Crew also has 2 slightly different makeups available.

Funny, those Cordovan-color service boots look very similar to how my "GQ" boots turned out after I applied some meltonian creme (see post here) ... I really like the flat laces and the new configuration of the eyelets, but I'm not sure the price is worth it compared to the "basic" model. Now the Homestead boot, that's awesome....

The colouring is somewhat similar on your GQ boots however, i think the toe looks sleeker on the new service boots. Although I would really have to see them both in person to say. I dont like the big round balloon toes that many boots have.
