I think the lion and crown tie may be fake. I may be wrong. I have come across a few like this, with different patterns. The signatures in the small end of the two ties are slightly different. Is far as my previous research indicated, the 2 r's in Ferragamo should be level across the tops. The golf tie has the correct sig, the lion tie has one R larger then the other. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

That's interesting. I definitely see it now. Guess I'll have to do some research on my own. If one had to be a fake, though, I'm glad it's that one, because I hate golf.

Whut? Oh no!

Now it appears that Brianpore knows the H-F outlets have a crazy wack sale going on this weekend too (70% on a lot of stuff + additional 20% storewide). Please, everyone else, forgive me for revealing this secret information. Whatever you do, don't look up online WHERE the H-F outlets are.

PS: They have such nice stuff, wherever you got it, Brianpore...a few of their things are a tad old-skool for me (like Grandpa Stuff) but most of their stuff is the perfection for which i am questing at thrift stores.

Nope (did you see all the Presidential and Hand Tailored sport coats I posted earlier in the week?), I don't even know where the Hickey Freeman outlets are. As mentioned before this is a large proxy that I am doing locally (nothing to do with any retail outlet store). Just mentioning it here to give you guys a heads up, but figured most if not all will sell on eBay.

:
APC women's trench coat i found for the wife (might be too big for her, if it is i'll put it on the trading spreadsheet in case your lady could use it)

For future reference, this coat has a tell that it's definitely men's. The shoulder flap on the upper left is meant to cover the body flap/button flap so rain doesn't run down inside the jacket. When you see a shoulder flap, you know how to button it.

There are only 6 (perhaps 3?) HF outlets, and none of them are near me. Even if you were selling from stuff you bought at one of them (WHICH YOU AREN'T), it still might benefit someone who isn't near a HF outlet.

BTW, that purple cable-knit is awesome. I'm glad it doesn't fit me, because I don't have the money.

Whew. Since posting that I was thinking about it a little and realized that the reaction could go 2 ways, and I appreciate the fact that youse guys took it as I meant it and I didn't accidentally set off a huge flame war. :satisfied:

Brianpore, always appreciate your posting stuff here. I know it's a little bit marketing for sales you're doing but it also is filtering "the good stuff" to us...and some day I am sure I'll be hitting you up for something and taking you up on the "work on prices for the guys in the thread" offers, heh.

And for the rest of you, my H-F outlet is in Kittery, ME.
http://www.thekitteryoutlets.com/store_display.cfm?storeID=52

I go there 5-6 times a year. Often, I buy nothing, even on deep discount it's way too pricey. However, every once in a while they have 10-20 pairs of unfinished pants on the table by the cashier for $20, (90-95% off) and you'll find one or two in your size and be bragging about it here...or a selection of ties to die for in the $20 range (this is my vice, I've spent $30-$40 apiece on new ones, there, heh, 5-6 at a time, forsaking my thrifting instincts)...or events like this weekend, where half the store was 70% off and whatever you bought storewide, 20% more was taken off at the register.

If you're coming out east or vacationing in Maine, the H-F outlet, the Orvis outlet, and to a lesser degree BB and PRL are worth checking out. The PRL...you see RLPL stuff and even better...but it's always either for toothpick guys, Andre the Giant, or isn't particularly outlet priced. J Crew and other stores are there but I never see the super shoes you see on this thread there...once in a while decent stuff but not enough for me to recommend.

I actually went to the H-F at the mothership in rochester, NY. It was about the same in selection and price as the outlet in Kittery...wit maybe 50% more stuff (seemed like more Bobby Jones and women's stuff in Rochester).

Thats what I read too, but looking at the APC website suggests that they didn't take that rule into account for the women's coat:

I wanted to go there but I was a bit afraid... it is right near all the drug dealers and prostitutes and other wonders of Rochester.

I had my 8 year old boy with me, it was just fine.

I will say it wasn't the most upscale neighborhood, but it wasn't threatening at least at 11 in the morning/broad daylight. Seemed like a typical working class neighborhood to me, and the parking lot was secure.

Oh please. There's no place that scary in Rochester, especially during the day.

Give it to Spoo and be done with it, dude. It's too small for you anyway. BTW this flap is on the opposite side. Yours is men.
