These? Definitely my favorite boots EVER, I think we've chatted about them before, haha. I've been wanting these for over a year but they were exclusive to Atelier right? Definitely agree with z9 being the best shape and adding oiled horse makes them unbelievable.

^ definitely ideal shape, but imo , a little overkill if you are just going to wear them with jeans, also a pain ********** putting and taking them off

thats why i prefer laceup boots with zips eg miharas

How's the quality of Damir Doma boots? Been eyeing these horse side zips from the FW11 collection below. Or should I just go for some Guidi side/back zips?

Yep those are the ones I referring too, they were also released in an ankle boot.

+1 prefer zip boots too for this reason.

I'm not too familiar with DD footwear but, I don't recall hearing any horror stories about quality issues. That being said- I'd recommend Guidi over DD footwear any day.

i inquired about it, told it can be done if person know what they are doing

i decided in the end that it wasnt worth it with that particular pair of boots

i just hate waking up in the morning, running late, trying to put on lace up boots on

this is why i hardly wear them, in fact i gave those boots to a friend

I really want some Augusta esque boots. AFAIK the only place that sells them in Nor Cal is Archive and their selection doesn't seem that great.

There's not that many places in the world that sell Augusta period.

Selection will vary store to store in the USA. Atelier seems to get the best selection as they have a good relationship with Simone. HLorenzo has a good selection as well. Archive seems to have smaller Augusta buys. Barneys on Madison has has a few surprises but you really need to call to get an idea of true inventory, website doesn't show the their full selection. IIRC last December some really nice models were on sale at 40-60% @ Barneys and good sizes were available.

Suus in Spain has a fairly decent selection- they stock some older, very cool models. "Thermic horse leather"

*SZ and SuFu classifieds are good places to check too if you don't mind used goods.

I have the Augusta SS2012 pics that I wlll post closer to A/W. There is a jaw dropping multi-zip boot coming next year :slayer:.

The cordovan backzips at The Archive are awesome. I tried them on a couple weeks ago (size 45) but they were a bit small for me... not that I was ready to throw down $2500, though. I did like them enough to start putting some cash aside for them. I owe my wife a RO leather, first. At the same time, I'm definitely ready to buy any second hand Carpe/Augusta backzips in 45/46.

Hate zip boots, only good ones are non-goth margielas.
