Those whiskey gunboats are beautiful. Whiskey is becoming harder and harder to come by now a days.

Is there a particular flannel cloth you guys recommend for buffing shell?

Also, in the Mac Method is says to wipe with a damp cloth. does the cloth matter? can I use like a handtowel or something? I have always used a slightly different method and want to try this. Thanks!!

Use an old silk tie, or steal a pair of your lady's nylons. In my opinion, a damp cloth is a damp cloth whether it's a paper towel or old rag. This isn't rocket science.

Gotta love the ravello. Would be my ultimate pair of chukkas. Do they still sell the chukkas in ravello?

IIRC these are from Alden SF.

Ravello has quickly become my second favorite shell after 8. CTYGGG...how about the pants...navy flannel Epaulet or something else?

Thanks...JT

#8 is the king. Just picked the trousers up from my quirky tailor a week or two ago & they are quickly becoming my favorite for winter wear. Here's the link & I highly recommend…

If I already have the ravello LWB (Alden DC) which is on the darker end of the ravello spectrum, with the dark brown edge, would this purchase be too redundant?

nephew,
it all depends on your present shoe wardrobe

Probably... Though you could say wear the darker one with more formal gear, and the ligher one more casually. I feel that the light version would be an awesome spring and summer shoe.

One of these is likely going up for sale soon

nephew,
may i ask why?

This Ravello LWB was purchased with a light "antique" finish on the sole. It was not seeing much action until I sanded and dark-stained the double leather sole. Now I'm much happier with it...
