I'll settle for a black shell balmoral captoe.  Had a pair on order.  Just got notified that the order came in sans my special order size.  Turns out that the shoes were damaged during fabrication and couldn't be delivered (after a six month wait).  They were going to be my first pair of shell.  Seems like a bad omen to me.

Color 8 should be known as the exotic color !

Flamingo Kid and you do need to get a pair of these.

It's an imperfect solution, but you can have wedge soles put on another Indy boot. I have the Goodyear wedge sole on my LS conservation boot. It's very comfortable, but gets dirty quickly. I haven't found a good way of cleaning them.

Interesting, didn't even think about that. Where can I buy the wedge sole? Thanks for the help.

Interesting, didn't even think about that. Where can I buy the wedge sole? Thanks for the help.

Your cobbler (B Nelson or whoever you use), should be able to provide the sole. He can probably show you a range of wedge soles to select from.

Moulded Shoe has a plain toe boot on the ripple wedge sole in "wax brown". Not sure what sizes are remaining or if the modified last works for you.

Ah, I got hit with the plain white box too.  I don't think I ever posted about that though.  All I sent in were the boots in the box (I kept the shoe bags and the laces).  Otherwise Alden did a great job for me (on two different pair).  I suggest calling the factory.

Both of these stories are very unnerving to read. Alden's recrafting service is one of the main reasons I initially latched onto this brand, expecting literally a lifetime of wear out of these shoes. Pity Alden wouldn't take pride in living up to their established rep.

I have had 2 pair shoes recrafted and both came in Green fresh Alden boxes with my size on the outside and trees and bags included.
