I think my next purchase will be the cigar chukkas. Which won't be for a very long time! Unless anyone is interested in a trade sz 7.5.

And yes, those are a nice pair of #8 chukkas

Funny how everyone clamors over the rarer colors of shell but the well aged #8 always impresses most. Personally, Amlaii's #8 Indy's are what sold me on Alden. With that said I anxiously await delivery of Cigar chukka from Shoemart tomorrow. They just seem perfect for spring and summer. Current collection of "rare" shell is cigar Indy, whiskey chukka and the aforementioned cigar chukkas, but my #8 Indys anD 8 wingtip boots from AoC get the most wear by far. My balck shell wingtip boots and black shell jumpers the least. Just my .02 cents.

I need an 8.5c but it sems no place stocks or has access to c width boots except shoemarts indy boot which im not really interested in. Id be willing to special order the c width boots and wait if necessary but i dont even know where to order from. Also im interested in a plaza or aberdeen last especially because theyre sleeker but i also like the way barrie looks.

Can anyone tell me where i can order aldens in a c width? Seems like a pretty basic question.

You can order from any Alden retailer, as long as it is a stock model. They will call Alden to see if it is in stock, and if it is not, it will be approx. 3 months. (Again, assuming it is a stock shoe)

Start with Shoemart and if that fails call Alden direct. If you don't have a store near they will sell direct.

(I'm partially kidding about the sizing questions. Many of us are happy to help, but these questions are almost impossible to answer online - order a couple of pairs from ShoeMart or ebay and see how they fit, or visit a local store, try some things on and buy what fits.)

Thank you for being a parenthetical voice of reason.
Sizing via the internet can only go so far.

What's the best black Alden shoes to get? I'm looking for something I could wear with a suit but perhaps also wear more business casually as well. Should I get something like this?:

or a black wingtip or captoe? Those are the three styles that appeal to me the most. I don't really like plain toe shoes. Any opinions? I don't yet own a pair of black shoes and need some.

Has anyone else noticed this? I just got a brand new Cigar PTB (second, no apparent quality issue that I can see) from ebay and wondering if I should wear it or try a 1/2 size down. It's a 10D if anyone is interested, I might put out an IC on B&S, not sure if it feels a little big or if I'm just imagining things. I haven't creased them.

Personally, I'd pick the captoe. For me, it's the most versatile, but generally black shoes are less versatile IMO, I like burgundy or brown.

@ ChrisGold, thanks!

Captoe is probably the best bet with a suit. Wingtip could probably be flexible, the NST you showed might be last on your list for the required use.
