^ So true. It's not that i don't want them. My dilemma of late stems from not NEEDING my 40-something pair of Aldens. I swore I'd move more into other brands when the quality and wait times got crazy recently. Just when I feel committed to that, I find a deal or must-own new make-up. My love/hate relationship with Alden continues.

If there are other brands you'd like to try, then you may want to pursue that. Move outside your comfort zone so to speak. You might something you like just as much.

I think they fit different - word is the BB LHS is on the Copley last. I also went TTS when I bought the BB LHS (vs. going down 1/2 size with the Alden LHS).

The BB LHS and factory LHS are each on the VAN last. I'm positive of it.

I own them both, and the unlined BB version is definitely more snug.

Alden and I go way back, plus they're an easy fit with my casual style. I've got plenty of EGs for business wear. I haven't been able to completely warm to most of Carmina's lasts, but I'd like to move toward them or Vass. Looking forward to Epaulet's partnership with them.

No doubt Alden fits a variety of styles. I'm still a big fan but would like to branch out. I have a pair of George Cleverlys on order (thank you Leather Soul), I'm in the process of ordering a pair of boots from Viberg, and 'd like to try Carmina and Trickers. At least one pair of each so I can diversify a bit.

I've been thinking about a pair of tricker's stow for a while now, but can't find a reputable retailer that I can experiment with sizes like shoemart does. I don't like dealing with oversea shipping.

You and me both. I prefer to go in for a fitting before ordering online.

What size are you in Alden? If you're an 8.5 or 9, I'll send you some Stows in what I think your size would be ....a UK 8....if you cover shipping. I have three pairs.

Other option is to call Leather Soul. They are in Beverly Hills and they just got some Stows in stock.

Sierra Trading Post usually has Tricker's Burfords for around $350 if you wait for a coupon.
They're on the 4497 last which is the same as used on the Stow. For reasons unclear to me, they have a warning that they Burfords run small.
Take anything you read on an STP description with a huge grain of salt.
STP return shipping is pretty cheap.

They also have a Stow lookalike called the Langston. They're *not* on the 4497. I think they're on the 2298 which is a more TTS last.

Grahame Fowler in NYC carries Tricker's. Haberdash in Chicago too.
And of course Leather Soul.
