Dark whiskey, light ravello, dark ravello, red cigar.... all relative, so I think there are a lot of worse things than the exact shade.
Side note, they are pictured against a white background, with unknown lighting.
You are not going to get a correct color cast, unless it was shot with a WB card and color corrected.

Very happy with the color -- when I opened the box I thought to myself that this one pair can function as both ravello and whiskey PTBs.

And yes, neither shot with a white balance card, nor color corrected, just camera to Styleforum. So please allow for some variation. To the naked eye they appear darker.

Doesn't matter what they're called, they look awesome. People seem to get very hung up on the name of the color. I understand that can be frustrating if you were on a 2 year per-order and didn't get what you were expecting. But if you just walked into a shop and picked these up, I think most would jump at that opportunity.

Completely agree. Now I feel like my joke was a little ill-timed, following on as it did from the lengthy discussion of previous weeks on the evolution of Alden whiskey colors.

On another note, I like the variations in shades as it gives collectors of such things (like myself) a certain sense of anticipation.
