I have bought 2.5 yards of this fabric from @edmorel .
It is 93% yak and 7% silk. I was planning to have it made into a casual, comfortable jacket for spring and fall to be worn to dinners with friends, or possibly on casual Fridays.
@gryffindor mentioned in this post (and the folllowing post) that the fabric might need some special tailoring (as opposed to being made as an ordinary sport coat). I searched for this (both on SF and Google), but I couldn't find anything useful.
If the cloth needs some type of special construction, I will probably have my local bespoke tailor make it up, instead of having it made through a high-quality MTM outfit (like Kent Wang or Spier and MacKay).
I am paging the tailors I know contribute to this boards (both alterations and bespoke) to see if anyone can offer advice or thoughts on working with Yak: @jefferyd , @David Reeves , @a tailor , @Despos .
Hopefully the thread will also be a useful resource for the tailors to see what the other experts think or have to say about the cloth.
Thanks in advance for any comments!
