I haven't noticed cracking using primarily wax, the grain probably helps from building up too much like you could with smooth calf. But I use both cream and wax like I would with any other shoe 🤷‍♂️

From what I can glean from the website, the 643 has a shorter vamp. This is apparent from a side-by-side comparison of the 643 and 643S. Note the toe boxes in photos. The 643S has a vamp that is extended and the toe box is not as sweeping…at least to my eye.
As part of the description on the website it’s stated: “Not to be confused with its sibling (643S), the 643, the hand-stitched apron is designed and executed to visually elongate the vamp.

Afternoon gents. I’m on the verge of buying a new pair of loafers from them. The problem is that I can’t find real life pictures of the style I want. So, I want to ask what are your thoughts on the 642 tassel loafer vs the 643? I love the 643 but I’m afraid the short apron may look disproportionate in real life. I’m getting them made in black leather if that makes a difference.

Hey all, I’m needing some help on sizing.

Currently I wear items below in their regular widths:

UK5.5 EG Dover 606 last - it’s the most comfortable pair I have. No issues in length and width.

UK6 C&J Chukka - also a super comfy pair. No issues.

UK5.5 G&G (multiple lace-ups and boots between MH71 and GG06 last) - length is fine, my toes have never hit the front, however the width is tight. They have stretched over time but not the most comfortable and I could use a smidge more. Ball of foot and pinky toe is abit smushed in.

UK5.5 Carmina Simpson last - a smidge wide on ankle opening; gets tight like the G&G’s from ball of foot and on.

I can wear my shoes all day but I can’t wait to take off the G&G and Carmina’s when I get home.

Thoughts on Saint Crispin sizing? I don’t currently have a retailer close by for try-ons but I did see Skoak had a wingtip in UK6 G width…

for further comparison my running shoes are all US7.5 regular width (Altra, Hoka, and Nike) *Nike’s are much narrower though.
