Ripstop or sateen for fatigues

Do you guys order a size larger in fatigues for shrinkage and since they have a drawstring? The XS fits me (unwashed) but I’m thinking about sizing up.

If I wear EG shirts in size small, would I also order the Bedford jacket in small? I am a 40 regular.

The rule of thumb is to stick to the same tagged size. Imho find a place that has both sizes in stock and a good return policy. Try both, return one.

Hi everyone,
Going to buy some fatigue pants and wanted opinions on what you all think (especially fatigue experts Canoe Club) is the best material to buy? My eye is on the ripstop as I heard it ages really nicely. Any advice appreciated!

Depends on style. If you're going for a classic olive pair, then sateen and ripstop are def the way to go, as others have noted. Imho go with a pair of orSlow fatigues in that case

Try both, keep the one that fits you best as is, return the other. Wash cold and hang dry so you don't have to worry about the material shrinking. Shrinkage—and stretching—varies from material to material

I personally haven't had any issue with shrinkage. Cold wash, hang dry

Agree. orSlow for the reverse satin is my "default" fatigues. Anything other material (besides the herringbone with CC) are EG.

really like EG fatigues I have in twill and duck. ts(s) for wilder fabrics.

Can't go wrong with ripstop. Iv'e got two pairs of fatigues, one in LC Strip which I love the cotton/linen blend and just ordered a pair in herringbone which I'm not sure on. Do own a few other pants in moleskin/ripstop.

Video out highlighting FW24. Not sure what I think of it. I like Daiki's take on clothes. I even like most of his lookbooks, at least when models aren't sporting pith helmets. But imho he often misses the mark in other creative endeavours.

or see if your tailor can do an original hem or if when they hem it, if they can add the holes to the hem

I think its what makes eg unique tbh but its clearly tip toeing on the editorial side so its not to be taken too literal. it has everything to do with the irreverence of daiki's vision that speaks directly to the relevancy and longevity of eg (especially in recent years) despite the fact most of the adjacent brands that were around them in the past nearly 2 decades have faded away

I really like the Ivy BD shirts from this season. Essentially a long sleeve version of the popover we typically see every spring/summer.
