Actually this is a good idea for a thread. I gave up on Kiton ties. Great design, construction and fabric but I hate the thin tail and spade shaped tip. Might be my own lack of ability but I can’t seem to make good knots with Kiton.

New faves: Marinella with wider ties in Regimental stripes, Shibumi and Cappelli are just cool overall and tie well, HN White London makes great stuff.

Zegna, Isaia and Brioni are of course always reliable.

Canali, despite my love for their suits, make boring ties.

Order ties from either or both of David Hober Patrizio Cappelli to your requirements and you won't need to vex yourself with this somewhat doubtful time wasting topic.

I have bespoke ties, but unique ties from other labels can be found at great values, which is why a thread like this is useful.

No it is not. A tie from Kiton costs significantly more than (almost double the price of) a tie from Hober.

While you have a point, this isn't universally true. I'm pretty aggressive about finding good deals on ties; I don't think I've ever spent more than $60 on a Kiton tie.
