Stitch - Pitti Uomo is a trade show - its not a fashion show where experimental or avant-garde styles are shown.

I'm so confused by the forum these days - so, if we see pics of people wearing silly outfits (at a conservative business dress-friendly location or not), we shouldn't comment upon it? And if we do, we're old-farts who just don't "get it"?

it's a trade show with people (many italians) wearing out there items to get their photo taken and to push the envelope.

it is a "look at me" show.

most of it is bad, but this is a petri dish of "how many outlandish things can I put together and wear in a fun(ky) manner to get noticed and set trends"

I have to say that stitchy is right here. Although not a fashion show in the conventional sense, is a a place where people, whether press (least, because we are behind the lens), well known or less known, individuals, peacock, and where brands vie for attention. After all, when Luciano Barbera is across from Kiton is a booths from Lattanzi, is just around the corner from Belvest, you need to stand out.

A row of grey suits (though I am about to show that row) is not going to do it. Styling and marketing gimmicks (the the roast pig feast) is needed unless you are Brunello Cucinelli, and he took up a huge piece of real Estate front and center in front of the basement, where Drakes, Edward Greens, Isaia, etc... are all housed, take up residence. Cruciani gives away beautiful bracelets. Also, "buying quality" is also buying into a brand. After all, if Unbelragazzo or I tell you that Drake's makes up some great ties, how do you really know, pictures on the internet aside. You are simultaneously buying Drake's marketing of "quality" and frankly, the Styleforum "brand" as a community (you guys) of men who recognize quality much more than most men.

Anyway, and now, back to the original intent of this thread, I am going to post a bunch of Kiton looks, once I get the photos semi-organized. Hang on tight.
