I've heard of new straightening products which are supposed to work well but take several hours to process. Don't know anything about them though.
Are you talking about the japanese straightening? It's good but it results in a pin-straight look w/ absolutely no body whatsoever, great if that's the look you're going for. I don't know of any other methods that take hours, unless you're talking about something newer.
