I'm located in Washington, DC. I'm getting married on May 31. I need a good quality, well fitting, all white shirt shirt with a spread collar.

I'm thinking about buying this one and getting it tailored:

Golden Fleece

All-Cotton Non-Iron Regular Fit Dress Shirt
ITEM# E239

Here is my reservation:::

The BB sales guy said that they don't recommend tailoring Golden Fleece (which is a regular fit and thus is very roomy). When I asked why, he said it wouldn't fit as well or it ruins the shirt...

Anyways, I need to get this squared away quickly since the wedding is coming up very soon. Am I in good shape to just buy this shirt and get it tailored? If not, what else can I do? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Listed below are my measurements from a recent suit fitting:

Jacket
Front length: 80
Shoulder: 50
Sleeve: 66
Chest: 110
Neck 42

Pant
Waist 94
Hips 113
Outseam 106
Inseam 80

Jeans:
33 or 34 waist, 32 length

Dress Shirts:
16.5 neck, 35 sleeve

I recently purchased one of these in 15.5/35: http://www.brooksbrothers.com/All-C...ne-Luxury-Dress-Shirt/ME00918,default,pd.html

I'm normally a 15.5, but even the collar on the regular fit shirt is much, much larger than normal. I also have a brand new "Fine" Polo Ralph Lauren Regent shirt in 15.5, and the collar on it is much smaller. I'd say the BB shirt is an extra half-inch to one-inch larger than the PRL shirt.

That said, the fabric is quite nice, and I don't see why you couldn't have it tailored, so long as your tailor is competent. At $84 with 25% off, it's a decent value. I'd size down in the collar, though.

There's also this, which comes in more sizes and is available in Slim and Extra Slim: http://www.brooksbrothers.com/Egypt...ne-Luxury-Dress-Shirt/ME01173,default,pd.html

I think you'll have trouble getting a MTM shirt done by May 31.

Yeah-- so I tried a couple of MTM places online that I found in other threads, and none can deliver by May 31.

So, I went to BB store, asked another associate who seemed to be better educated, and he said everything would be fine. The only difference is that the shirt will no longer be non-iron because the tailor won't be able to use the glue that is required. Anyways, I'll respond back with how the shirt turned out in case anyone else is in the same boat.
