Hey folks,

I'm in the market for some higher end shoes. They'd be used with suits primarily, As I move out of a blue collar role and more into a management role, time to leave the steel toes behind.

I have done some research and discovered Florsheims and Allen Edmonds quality levels have slide downwards in the last few years, so I have turned my eyes to the english shoe makers.

Question now becomes? Who's manufacturer do you choose? Trickers is probably way above the budge zone. I'm thinking max around $350 CAD for a pair of shoes which puts it around $250 GBP.

I have read that Loake are often stiff and sundry leather correction issues. I'm looking for input from the others on the quality of the others. Since at the end of the day, if I'm wearing a wingtip brogue, will anyone really notice the difference from one maker to another? Which one will offer best quality.

Lastly, I'm a weird food size. 9EEEE. Often I jump to a 10E/10EE / 10.5D (Bostonian 10.5D and 10E (or wide) both fit my foot fine.

Ideas...comments?

Thanks..

Cheaney, I'd go for out of the list you've presented. Try having a look over at either Herrings or ShoeHealer for either Cheaney or Cheaney For Herrings range. Richard @Shoehealer is always prepared to help and will no doubt suggest something at a very good price too.
