Hi all,
I don't really know anything about clothes, but now that I've graduated and entered the workforce (and have stopped growing), I've decided that I should pay more attention to what I wear and build up a wardrobe of quality, lasting items. One of the first things I'll be looking for are jeans. I've been soaking up as much information as I can, but I'm still having trouble narrowing down the wide selection of brands and understanding some of the finer nuances between different jeans. What I've learned so far is this:

-Selvedge denim will generally last longer and be better quality
-Raw denim takes some breaking in, but will last longer and develop crease patterns that you wouldn't see on prewashed denim
-Button flies are more robust, can be repaired, and don't distort the fabric as it wears in like zippers do
-It's better to choose a pair that seems too tight since it will loosen a size as it breaks in

If anyone could give me some more information and point me to some brands I'd very much appreciate it. The problem I'm running into is that most newbie threads are too old to encompass many of the newer brands or are limited to only the entry level products. I don't want to spend top dollar for minimal improvement, but at the same time I don't want to cheap out (buy quality and you only have to cry once). I'm of the opinion that it's well worth it to spend twice as much on something that will last twice as long, but there's a point of diminishing returns for any hobby. Being new to this, I don't know where the sweet spot is, so please share your wisdom.
