What could be more dramatic than Lincoln's Ad-Lib Club Back-to-the-Roots sessions?

Rare/underplayed sounds of the 1950s and 60s adopted by the original soul/mod scene that gave birth to the first UK all-nighters. R&B, Soul, Doowop, Jamaican R&B, Ska all played out in an 1823 stone-walled, windowless cellar-bar underneath Lord Beaumont’s Manor House in the wonderful city of Lincoln. A warren of rooms just made for the Ad-Lib Club’s music policy!

Living in Essex I don’t get there as often as I would like, but took these pics on my last visit. Of course, it’s important to dress as one would have done back in the day…

Talked to Erik and confirmed this photo would be allowed.
As can be seen, I am wearing a field jacket with turtleneck with just a bit of sport coat visible too. The shot was intended to be kind of movie look.
Very interesting theme @EFV

My favourite challenge so far, not just because I'm hosting it.

@upr_crust That's an awesome view. I think I speak for all of us; that we look forward to the house warming party.

When we are finally settled, I am sure that we will need to schedule a series of house warming parties, for all the interest that the views and the interior design have engendered - perhaps an SF one would be a possibility.

Various things are up the proverbial creek this last week or so, consequently there is no entry from me.
I'm enjoying the great shots you guys have entered though so here is one from the archives.

All praise to @EFV for having proposed this, and kudos to all the participants for some striking photographs.

As a born-and-bred northeasterner, however, it’s hard to beat a nighttime photograph of the Empire State Building. Very hard.

Just sayin’ …

Cheers,

Ac
