Which fabrics tend to shrink more when run through the dryer? I had some flannel Individualized shirts made up in fall that fit well, but are borderline too small after drying. I just ordered the Barley and Rye Madras and a basic blue Albini oxford. As long as they'll shrink the same or less than the flannels I should be all set.

CRAMERTON CHINOS

Given all our Stingray and Saffiano talk, I'd understand if you guys thought that I've forgotten about the basics. It's been in work for a bit, but I'm happy to present our newest collection of chinos. Dudes asked for more khaki's. They asked for more twills. We went out and made the best khaki twill on the market! And at our opening price point to boot. May I present the Cramerton Chinos! There's a ton of text in the item, but the crucial things to know are: 1) Cramerton cloth is a phenomenal 9oz cotton twill. It's based on old army uniforms and it feels like it. Great hand and tough as hell. The khaki and olive will fade over time too. 2) It breathes nicely and is wearable year-round. I have some old-school Cramerton Rudy trousers that I'd wear in NYC in the winter or SoCal in the Summer. It's as versatile weather-wise as a mid-weight denim 3) We washed the hell out of these to eliminate shrinkage and soften up the fabric. It's going to feel a tiny bit smaller in the leg and waist than the current Rivet, but that will stretch out with some wear. We tested it. 4) The shape is a bit simplified to give these a vintage vibe. Instead of herringbone taping we gave it a tough-guy lap seam on the outer leg. It comes with an unfinished hem. The legs are creased (as they would have been in the army), but you can press that out at a dry cleaner if it's not your style. If you like the Rivet Chino, you're going to absolutely love these in person. The fabric is really boss. We made a bunch of them, but they'll be a big press launch for them in a week or so. Lots of units from 32 to 34, but if you take 31 or 35, you probably want to pick up a pair sooner than later to get in on this first round. We have to do large minimums to get the fabric, so the first restock wouldn't be until May or so. [COLOR=A74345] [/COLOR]

Bingo! Love this thing too. It's got this starchy yet soft quality that's hard to describe. And can be as formal or as casual as you like.

My EP Flannels have shrunk with washing and drying, but only really in the length. Has happened on both stock and EFF makeups

I also had a blue lapis suit made up -- Double Breasted with blonde horn buttons. It is amazing...and too small. Will be in B/S soon, but if there is a 41S / 32 Rudy guy out there, hit me up.

Oh geez. This is my fear, given that mine hasn't arrived yet. To be safe I ordered both the jacket and pants a half size larger than I normally take, but that would just be devastating

Do the Court High sneakers fit the same way as the GATs? I ask because I bought Tennis High's before and while in the same size as my GATs, they fit too snug. Thanks!

Flexfits in 2 sizes would cover 90% of the noggins out there? They are the most comfortable to wear also.

But I get doing a traditional leather or suede strap, on leather or suede materials. Old school for old school if you will...


Can you give us anymore hints on this big footwear event coming? I'm stoked for something I know nothing about.


I have been looking at the Loden pebble backpack, thinking it would make a great sneaker in some sort of format.

These guys actually don't do flexfits. A section of their factory makes totally trad brimmed hats - fedora's and the like.

I asked them if they had ever done ball caps and they said that they had - although there were no samples. We measured out a New Era fitted and I showed them pics of a 5-panel camp hat. They worked on it from there. They don't have a ton of hardware options so the only choices where adjustable leather strap or fitted sizes.

I definitely looked into fitted sizes, but we're probably talking an $85 retail on these, and that's just too many SKU's to stock.

But the strap works brilliantly. And this thing fits and feels like no baseball hat you've ever worn. It's largely handmade and it fits brilliantly with the adjustable rear. The crown sits up nicely and the brim is excellent. It has to be your style, but it's a rad way to pair a ballcap to you look. Not sure we're going to sell a million of them, but I think that it's a very "Epaulet" product. It's minimal, versatile, luxe, beautifully made, and a good value for what you're paying. And it will tie in nicely to all of the new merchandise that we're developing.

Really eager to see the samples of all the bags. Definitely a change from one model to three! I think the larger weekender is what I'd likely go with but still definitely want to see them all -- and hopefully all the leather colors too. I'm normally a brown-tone leather guy, but black is so great for luggage.

Looking forward to picking up my olive Cramerton rivets and some EFF goodies tomorrow...

@applky we'll have three options for leathers on the bags - black, dark brown, and cognac. Can't wait to show you guys the samples!

Hard to say for sure, but I'm thinking that Cognac might be the favorite. It's a freaking gorgeous color, and we'll tie that in to bright brass hardware.

Between the graphite and various couro cromo trainers, which pair would be most versatile for 4 season wear (I'm in California)?

I wear mostly shorts (weekend), dark chinos (grey, navy Rivets, etc), slim khakis (Rivets, Theory) and lighter jeans (no raw or black).
To wear with shorts, I'm thinking the graphite would be the only one that works.

The auburn finish does looks amazing.

Thoughts?

@austunner you can absolutely wear either of them with shorts, a lot of our customers do.

I have to say, I'm actually really smitten with the Graphite ones. We've sold them particularly well in the city stores, so I've seen a lot of guys around our neighborhood with them on. Something about that monochrome soft grey tone is really dope.

I know there've been a few questions about this, but anyone have a report on how much the Cramerton rivets stretch out?

Out of the box they're WAY tighter than my other rivets, even post-wash, such that I'm thinking about sizing up. Hard to imagine them stretching to the same size as my other rivets so it'd be great to get some more input before sending back a pair of worn, stretched out pants back to EP.

@tizim they'll definitely stretch quite a bit after a day of wear. I'd judge it like a jean. Jeans generally contract 0.5 to 0.75 of an inch in the waist after a wash - at least when they're still fairly new. As a dense twill, this fabric is pretty similar. Feel free to email or post a photo, we'll be happy to check it out and give you feedback. And go ahead and do a dozen squats in them, guys do that at our shops when trying them on. They won't break, and you'll get a real idea of how much they can give.

Picked up my EFF Southwick suit from the store today and chatted with Mike and fellow SFers. I am thrilled with how the suit turned out and the Lapis Speckle Flannel is just brilliant. It is brighter than navy, looks conservative from a distance, and has a ton of character up close. It also has a great hand and a nice nearly-3-season weight. I really like the change on the lapel from previous Southwick jackets. Got the suit home and threw together an outfit to take a few quick pics. I'll take better shots after I get it altered and am not trying to find the right light in my cramped apartment.

This was my first try with epaulet pants, I'm usually a 32 or 33. Took a chance and the 32 and I couldn't even zip them up. I'm assuming the 33 will work, but a little hesitant to pull the trigger.. Hoping to hear more people chime in with sizing and stretching results

@Wooderson if you like, you can hold onto the 32 and order a 33 for comparison. We'll be happy to give you feedback on the fits. You should be able to zip them up, so I'm thinking that you'll need that size up.

Rule of thumb with Cramerton: you should be able to zip and button them fully. A little tighter than you'd like is okay, but really constrictive is going to be too small

Haven't seen much discussion on the EPLA Derby and it looks like plenty of sizes are still in stock. Was thinking of grabbing a pair in Couro Cromo Steerhide Black. What are everyone's thoughts on them?

@tobiasfunke we've reordered them three times, so they've been restocked quite a bit.

In our shops it's consistently one of our most popular items. It's often bought as a well-priced biz-caz piece. It's not really dressy, so I don't love them with a full suit or a very "Styleforum" getup. But they're brilliant with chinos, jeans, tweed, flannel, etc. The leather is tough as nails and the sole is very comfortable.

Honestly, I'd advise to never put an Individualized shirt in the dryer if you can avoid it. That really goes for every shirt that we sell. Outside of shrinkage, dryers will fade colors and shorten the lifespan of your shirts - especially on a higher end fabric. It would probably shrink the Madras as much as the flannel. The Albini oxford should be more resilient - that stuff is pretty bulletproof, but even still, you'll get more wear out of it without drying. Over time, oxford weaves can become unraveled and frayed, and dryers will accelerate that.

But if you have to dry them, then just do the oxford. I'd really keep that Madras out of it. The upside is that lightweight fabrics like Madras dry very quickly on a hanger.

@herzzreh I'd say to get a 30 and a 31 to see which works better. I'm leaning towards 31 as the OG Cramerton Walts ran a little bit big.

@lbrig so different! If it has to be just one, then get Flecked H-bone. It's a really unique fabric and a nutzo deal for this price. They marked it down from it's $245 retail of last year and it's now 15% off $170. You'll absolutely love it, and it will probably disappear soon.

Beaded oxford has been in their line forever, so you can get that at any point. Flecked Herringbone is like a rare and beautiful bird.

@esoxm the Trophy BD is huge (thanks to @bradp for the pic). I tell guys in person that you generally know if you're a Trophy person. Like you often know if you're a Gable person. It's a very stylish and Italian look

@Darkside most unique color IMO. It's a very pale tan, a couple shades off of white. Absolutely perfect for the upcoming weather

@wj4 you have the OG GAT's from 2013 right? If so then go up a half size. I'd say to order the same that you wear in Jordan 1s or Dunks. The fit is really consistent on those styles for me.

And get the red grain ones!
