Can anyone comment on the sizing for the (Hawaiian) Surf Pattern popover? The measurement charts I've seen show smaller overall sizing. I wear a Small in the Beach Tricolor popover, but the measurements for the surf popover seems tighter to the point where it looks like I would need a medium.

Where have you got those measurements from? The popover fits loose. I have it in medium but could wear S as well. Depends on what fit you like though. I'd say stay tts. What size do you wear in other shirts? I'm both s and m in EG shirts. I prefer a 21" chest. I think the popover in M is 22", it's a pretty baggy shirt, especially in the back. Great for warm summer days.

Exactly this. The popover fits tighter in the chest but bellows out generously from there; It's the intended aesthetic of a really relaxed fitting tropical-wear shirt. I'm in the same boat as Shingles, I could go S/M on pretty much any EG piece depending on how I want it to fit and I've only bought the popovers in medium. For those who find the body to be too relaxed when sizing up because of the chest/shoulders, our tailor did a simple alteration for me where he just stitched the box pleat along the back at the base of where it folds and continued the stitching down to around the waist area. This kind of just pulls the shirt taut so it doesn't really float away from my body as dramatically, reducing the "beer belly" effect that I know has turned some people away from this piece.

Ok--

Anyone seen the Iridescent fabrics in person? They look very nice in photograph but I wondered whether they are even better in 3d.

Also, about the Truman Vest, I haven't bought a vest before but thought if any would look good, it is an EG one. At J Crew I would buy small/slim shirts, and wear their 36R suits, but I am 182cm tall. Would the small cinch/truman vest be too short on me? The medium?

I am a medium in all jackets EG, and tried on the vests in person. Definitely go true to size.

Unfortunately, their styling suggests the calamities I would endure given the limitations of my own closet, time and experience. Pass! :violin:

Anyone know how the ss13 penn shirts fit? They appear to fit looser and long. I've never owned one before (only own a Bedford in terms of their jackets).

I actually have the penn shirt in XS and yeah, it is looser to be worn more as a jacket.

The XS fits more like a S if that helps.

I have the Penn shirt jacket as well. The fit is very similar to the Bedford that you own and the Popover shirt that CSCoHammers7 explains above, in that the top of the garment has a slimmer fit and it gradates down to a more relaxed fit at the bottom. This is a fit you'll find pretty consistently across many EG items. Atomkun is right about it being looser than an average shirt, because its meant to be worn over, as a jacket. Its not drastic, in my view, and as such I'd suggest staying true to size. I personally had the Penn I own tailored to a more straight fit. Not a drastic alteration either ( the shirt jac remained untouched by the armpits, only the sides towards the bottom were brought in). If you're looking for a size Medium, I'm selling one of my doubles (see below). :D
