Eating a burger without the bun

About 1% of the population has Celiac Disease, an intolerance for wheat and gluten. This would account for some people choosing a burger without the bun.

My two teenage children have CD and would much sooner be having the bun instead of using a knife and fork.

They opened an m:brgr in Toronto not too long ago, I gave it a try last week. They have the "lettuce-as-a-bun" option there.

FWIW, m:brgr is overrated. And its a strange location, way out near Spadina on King. At the price point they have, its way too far from the Bay street crowd. Place is new and was practically empty at lunch time.

try Gourmet Burger on kipling near sherway.also a strange location but best burger i ever head

Oh my god, I had a brat burger today. ****, I love the midwest. All the men are fat and horrid looking, and the girls still starve themselves like they're from California! It's like shooting fish in a barrel.

I don't eat grains too often but when I do, it comes in the form of a juicy burger.

Sometimes I don't have buns at home and I just lettuce wrap it. Got the idea from In n Out.

How do you do the lettuce wrap though? I find it's hard to get a handle on and the ketchup and sauce just slips around and makes a mess. Nothing soaks the good stuff in like a bun.

I've seen people use grilled portobello mushrooms, in place of bread, as buns.

How many threads has this "dumbest person in America" started whining about how he needs to lose weight?

I make burgers at least once a week and haven't used anything from the bun family in probably a year. Lettuce-wraps are messy, so I usually just eat that ***** Mr. Pitt style.

Yeah, if I made burgers at home I'd skip the bun non-sense.

Mostly because I wouldn't want to buy buns. Lettuce or maybe like... grilled zucchini planks.
