One of the best boat shoes are Sebago's Docksides. They are great quality.

PJ Tailors have awesome driving shoes.

For a long time, Sebago had much harder soles with wider grooves. Better for street wear, not so good on the water. Not sure if they have changed their niche.

AE just had a crazy sale for firsts at $99. They didn't advertise it though, you had to call an SA to get the deal.
Ha, of course they did. Is there somewhere on this forum that tracks sales? I find it is hard to be tracking all of these individual threads all the time since there is so much going on.

I know there is a sales/promo code thread, but does not seem to get much activity.

Also, can you re-sole the maritime or the other boat shoe they make? Or no?

I think they have, but you also have different soles with different grooves in Sebago dockside range.
Nowadays no one uses boat shoes to go on a boat, nevertheless, they are well made and assembled.
I have used boat shoes for more than 30 years, and have used quite a few.
The more beaten they are, the better they become.

I wouldn’t assume the Maritime can be recrafted. However, the two pair I got three years ago are holding up great.

If you are interested, call AE’s outlet store in North Charleston, SC and ask if they could still sell you a pair at the sale price. I got a third pair during the sale last week; “natural” CXL. The leather really is in a different league from the current Gold Cup.

OP, Oak Street Bootmakers has several styles of boat shoes and mocs that are made in USA and in your price point. I have a few pairs from them and enjoy them. Have a look at their website.

Carmina has introduced a boat shoe (link). Has anyone given them a try?

This is super interesting. Could be a cool hybrid...could also be a frankenstein of other shoe types! I definitely want to see real life pics from someone.

This seems to be the thread to ask: what’s the AE Nags Head boat shoe like for quality? I believe they were made for Jos A Banks and came in a EEE fitting.
