Which do you all prefer? The Ellison on Rain Last (top) or the Brown Captoe on Simpson (bottom)? I prefer Simpson lasts, but I like the darker brown color of the Ellison (I am not a fan of wearing brown or tan shoes with Navy, but I will do so with dark brown shoes).

Yes, I did. I am 10UK in in most Carmina lasts.

It's from the Armoury website. They called it "brown calfskin" - perhaps it is the same. Would you mind PM'ing a pic of yours so I can see the color?

If it in reality is as dark as the Ellison, I might go with that bc I prefer that last as the toebox on the Rain is a bit wide for my liking.

What is the name of the colour of the Simpson? I have these shoes in "brown calf", which is a very dark brown (some might even call it black brown).

What you have is model# 80105 in "Natur Marron". The other version is "Vegano Marron". In fact, the Ellison depicted above is in "Vegano Marron". I'm not sure what the Simpson above is, depending on light, as it seems lighter than the Ellison on the Rain last. Maybe it's tan. I know member jungeroller received a batch of dark tan Carmina shoes, or at least darker than normal.

Grain!!!!!

You know I love me some grain...but, Carmina grain does nothing for me. I know they have had some QC and sourcing issues and nothing I have seen us as good as other brands I also purchase. So I would be more interested in a different leather for that NST makeup

While Carmina's hatch grain looked sorely disappointing to me, I have to vouch for the scotch grain; I have those black grain bal boots that Epaulet did for 2 runs last year, and the texture and quality are phenomenal.

Regarding loden suede, what color pants do you guys believe work best? Do you find the color limiting?
