what trees do you guys recommend for simpson lasted shoes? (do you use carminas//do they even offer lasted trees)

I would like to know this as well.

I believe having the ball of my feet line up with the ball of the shoe and the width is comfortably snug, not right, to be an ideal fit. Although I've had shoes fit with respect to width, the ball of my feet were below where it should have been I believe. I worry about how it creases and I've read that a longer shoe is more likely to crease at the toe box, which I feel is unappealing, especially if it's a captoe.

No, shorter shoes will crease in the toe cap, not longer.

Carmina doesn't have lasted shoetree as of today. Basically they have only 2 types of shoetrees.

I wanted to get your opinions on some colors, namely cognac vs burgundy. I have a pair of burgundy already, which look spectacular. I haven't seen cognac in the wild.

Is cognac basically a darker walnut? I'm guessing that it's a more plain shade of brown and stands out less, while burgundy is more bold.

I'm after a pair for everyday use, that can be dressed up or down (leaning towards double monks for this reason). Would cognac be suitable? I really like burgundy but I'm not sure about having more than one pair of the same colour.

If you already have burgundy and are in the process of building your shoedrobe, then I would definitely recommend cognac. It's a versatile shade that will work very well for a dub monk that you want to dress up and down.

I think that burgundy is more versatile in the sense that it can be worn with charcoal or navy (I don't mix black and blue or brown and charcoal) but I think that brown looks better than burgundy with most other colors Blue, green, I don't like wearing burgundy shoes with a red or orange tie, because it feels clashy, others may disagree) here are some pics of my cognac. Since you already have burgundy covered, for me, cognac is the clear decision.

Since you guys are on topic of cognac, what's your take of cognac on full brogue oxford? .Back then I posted asking cognac on full brogue from carmina website....not sure how it looks in real time though...

Carmina doesn't have lasted shoetree as of today. Basically they have only 2 types of shoetrees.

My shoes are on the detroit last, but I read earlier in this thread the carmina shoe trees don't work well with this last. Can anyone recommend a better shoe tree? Or tell me where to buy the carmina ones other than their website which is sold out of my size? Thanks!

It may not help you, but I purchased mine from a Swedish website http://www.skolyx.se/sv/skoblock/1-skoblock.html

They work pretty well.
