I would go for a Tomir rubber sole, a little more dressy. But there's one drawback in using Carmina as travel shoes (at least if you're passing through security) and that's that they use metal shanks. Many English makers (EG, G&G etc) use wooden shanks.

The security is not an issue but can you please share more information on the Tomir soles? A pic or link? And how is it better than the usual Dainite?

TIA

Can anyone tell me what Carmina's round lasts are? Forest and Robert? Anything else? (Rain and Inca are definitely too pointy.)

Looking for something similar to C&J's 317 or 325 last.

Give the Forest last a look. It's similar to the 325, at least from that angle.

Detroit last is rounded too.

I'd say Forest is closest to what you're looking for. There's also the Oscar, which is even more rounded. There's also a new last developed for country style shoes that is very round and a bit clunky, cannot remember the name of this one though.

Also the Soller by the looks of it.

Oscar is round but it has a low instep and less room in the toebox area, for me.

Oscar, Detroit

Thanks all.

How much room does the Detroit have in the toebox?

Anyone interested in jumping on a Simpson last group MTO? I have an idea based on a pair of Tom Ford shoes I saw a pic of recently.

It would have punching along the vamp and quarters as shown in this pic:

But instead of a plain toe, I'd like a punched captoe with a medallion like this:
http://www.carminashoemaker.com/web...,69,105,106,63,62,54,55,56,57,58,59,60,61,232

I'm thinking this would look great as a balmoral with single leather sole in dark cognac...or maybe suede. Anyone interested in something like this?
