The forest isn't necessarily a wide last, just that it allows those with wide feet to get a wider fit whereas other lasts don't have the option

I think the forest last has a very nice shape. Not too bulbous, just right.

I can't comment on Forest beyond saying that my Forest-last boots fit very nicely. I'm only out of the game if you lot decide on Rain or Simpson.

Thats the boot in question. I think we are considering the Forest last and possible rubber sole? I am still open to adjustments but thats what we have thus far

You gotta love SF. People have no clue about a MTO make up but are still interested...you don´t want to miss the good stuff (i´m the same so this is no criticism)

Forest sounds most reasonable, considering folks want wides. I still have a huge hardon for leather soles, but this seems like a sufficiently rugged/casual boot that really any sole would work.
Forest size down 1 size from US?
I only have one pair of US shoes (AE Daltons), and that's exactly how I sized down for Forest. Equally comfortable for both pairs.

I'd also prefer a leather sole but that isn't a deal breaker for me.
